Running away, loosing your pet

You lost your pet

It can happen for different reasons (after a move, during vacations, a storm), your animal escapes your surveillance and gets lost. In that case, after quickly looking through the neighborhood and asking the neighbors, we recommend that you follow these steps:

In the first few hours:

Call the following persons and let them know that you lost your pet and give them a description with an identification number (if you have one):

• S.P.C.A.
• The pound or town hall
• The veterinary close to your quarter

Immediately afterwards:

Create small posters with the following elements:

• Picture of your animal (if you have one)
• Name
• Physical description
• Specie (dog, cat)
• Breed or type
• Size
• Colour of hair
• Age
• His identification Number (tattoo or microchip)
• Your coordinates and contact hours
• The day, the time and the place where the animal disappeared

Place an add in the local papers with the same information.

But to prevent any future problems, augment your chances of finfing your animal by identifying him with a microchip or tattoo and do not hesitate to make him wear a medal with your name and your telephone number.
